My Teaching Philosophy
I am a reflective practitioner who believes that the student comes first. As a child, I struggled through school without support, so it is my goal to create inclusive education for ALL of my students. I am passionate about building connections with students, and I do my best to ensure each student feels important by engaging authentically with their interests. I believe in growth--we never stop growing, and each of our personal journeys are full of learning opportunities. I am a supporter of incorporating play, creativity, and nature into education. Teachers need to capture their students' attention and ignite in them a passion for learning and inquiry. I strive to promote a safe learning environment through the implementation of social-emotional learning techniques. The mental health of our students should be a the forefront of our planning...
we must put "Maslow before Bloom."
This tree represents the important aspects of my teaching philosophy; it will grow and change like all things do.
